I go by Mr. Compounding (I know, great name). I grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, moved to Boston, Massachusetts after high school where I still live today. I work in Software Development for a financial services company.
Over the last few years, I became obsessed with personal finance and decided to start a blog. My goal is to share my personal experiences and opinions, as well as encourage people to take control of their finances.
For most of my life, I thought being financially independent was something that only trust fund babies and extremely talented people (as in top 1% in their field) could achieve. As a result, I grew up thinking my only option was to just work hard for decades and hopefully one day retire.
Fortunately, I now know that assuming we have some marketable skills, financial literacy is all most of us need to build wealth and eventually achieve our financial independence, and I’m excited to share how I came to that conclusion.
If you’re interested in keeping up with my posts (I’m shooting for at least 1 per week), or just wanna holla’ at your boy, my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. I can also be found on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.
